A proposed deal between the City of El Paso and a local non-profit organization may help more victims of sexual assault. The item between El Paso and Sexual Trauma Assault Response Services or STARS will be reviewed at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

It will provide emergency and follow-up counseling services among other services. According to city documents -- the city will pay stars 70-thousand dollars a year for their services over a three year period.

"That helps us a great deal because all of our services are provided free,” Teresa Chavira, an Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator with STARS told us.

If the proposal goes through it will take effect immediately on Tuesday.
