El Paso’s City Code Compliance Division starts handing out citations for overgrown weeds
Flooding fears have now morphed into weed worries for some El Paso homeowners.
Officials said during the weekend of September 14 and 15th, 130 citations were handed out.
Recent rainfall has weeds sprouting up throughout the city. Code inspectors are still out notifying property owners and tenants of violations. Violations not corrected may result in more citations or clean-up fees if the city has to clean the property themselves. Weeds must not grow 12 inches or taller or become a nuisance.
