CAIRO, EGYPT— The Egyptian president has not stepped down as earlier reports indicated.

President Hosni Mubarak is still president, but Mubarak did transfer power to his vice president. It is unclear if Mubarak will have control over anything, or if he has power at all. Mubarak also said he will not resign or step down as president until after elections in the fall of 2011.

Cairo's Tahrir Square rang with anger as Egyptians called for Mubarak to leave.

"We want all Egyptians to know, America will continue to do everything that we can to support an orderly and genuine transition to democracy in Egypt,” said President Obama.
