EL PASO - Before you send your child to class next week, there's something you might want to know. Taking ecstasy in class seems to be a trend among high schoolers in El Paso.

Several students from high schools in the Borderland have have told NewsChannel 9 that students are popping pills during school, especially while in class. We're told they're doing it to make class "fun."

Hear one student's struggle with the drug, and find out what EPISD has to say about the problem tonight on NewsChannel 9.

I am in favor of punishing these students to the full extent of the law, dont slap their wrist and let them get away with it, because they are juveniles. As an added plus, go after their parents for allowing these kids get away with it, and condoning this behavior.

Unfortunately, most parents don't have a clue as to how their kids behave in school, who they hand out with, what issues they have, etc. Too many feel they can just wind them up and let them go do their thing. Stay committed to them throughout their lives and be involved, you can't let your guard down for one minute.
