EL PASO - Are you looking for a place to chill out this summer? How about heading to a new park in East El Paso?

The Pecan Grove #2 park used to be nothing more than a patch of grass; now, it has lots of amenities.

City leaders hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate the park's facelift.

"People will use it a lot because it was a nice, big green space, but now we've added some amenities to it. We added a walking path around the park, we added playground equipment, we made it ADA accessible, we added rubber mats for the kids," said City Representative Eddie Holguin.

The changes were funded by a $123,000 grant.

The park is located at 9100 Betel.
