This time next week we should know who the city's next mayor is, and if you haven't voted yet you're going to have to wait until Saturday. Early voting has ended.

In a week of early voting, more than 20,200 people cast their ballot. That's already about half the number of people who voted in the general election. UTEP Political Science Professor Gregory Rocha says that should benefit Oscar Leeser in the mayor's race. He easily defeated Steve Ortega in the general election but failed to get 50 percent of the vote.

"And the latest campaign finance reports show he's outraised Mr. Ortega since those elections and you can tell by the ads put out by the Leeser campaign and lock of response by Ortega there's some resources and momentum on his side," said Rocha.

Later this week we'll have the mayoral candidates live in our KTSM studios for a one on one interview during News Channel Nine at 6:30.

At this point in time I would call Leeser the looser and not the frontrunner. He got the most votes last month but he won't get my vote on Saturday. I will vote for Ortega. To me Leeser is an arrogant and dangerous wanna be candidate. Leeser's attitude during the run off showed me how arrogant and dangerous he is.
