El Paso Community College (EPCC), in partnership with the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD), is proud to announce the opening of its seventh Early College High School.

Burges Early College High School (BECHS) will hold a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday, August 13th at 6:00pm.

The event will be held at the Burges High School campus, 7800 Edgemere Blvd., beginning in the main gym and moving to the BECHS Building.

Dr. Randall Woods, Principal of Burges High School, Mr. Juan Cabrera, Superintendent of EPISD and Dr. William Serrata, President of EPCC, will welcome local dignitaries and members of the Burges High School family.  Activities will include a ribbon cutting and tours of BECHS.

BECHS is the first traditional high school campus in El Paso County to employ a comprehensive Early CollegeHigh School model.

The Early College High School Initiative is designed to allow students to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and an associate’s degree in four years.

The key to the success of this initiative is a strong partnership between the school districts and higher education institutions.
