E. coli scare prompts ground beef recall
More than 23 thousand pounds of ground beef products are being recalled on fears they may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.
The recalled cases of beef come from National Beef Packing Company, based in Liberal, Kansas.
The recall is categorized as a "Class 1."
That means there is a reasonable chance that using the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death. No illnesses have been reported.
The contamination was found as a result of routine inspection.
