DTV Coupons Capped

If you haven't bought your converter boxes for the digital transition yet your federal discount may not come in time. The converter box coupons have been capped out.

In just a little over a month TV stations nationwide will make the transition to digital. We have learned time is running out if you want a $40 discount on converter boxes.

That means if you haven't applied for your coupons yet you'll be put on a waiting list and coupons will be mailed to you on a first-come-first-served basis as funds from expired coupons are recycled.

We're told as of right now, more than 100,000 people are on that waiting list and it keeps growing.

With a little over forty days left until the digital transition some folks still using analog did not anticipate paying full price for a converter box wasn't in their budget plan.

"Obviously there's millions of people who need to get them anyway, not everybody can afford to go out and get the converter," Monica Washington said.
