EL PASO - Resting your arm out the window while you drive could increase your risk of cancer.
The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology has published a study showing that among U.S. patients with skin cancer on their upper arms, a majority of those cancers are on the left arm. Right arm cancers account for 55% of all cancers on the arms.
To support the idea that these cancers were due to increased sun exposures from driving, scientists quote a similar study done in the 1980s by Australian scientists .
In Australia, cars drive on the left side of the road. And the majority of skin cancers were reported on patient's right arm.
