Drivers Sign Up For HEAT Program
Help End Auto Theft Program
Law Enforcement Officials are using some HEAT to reduce the number of stolen vehicles in the borderland. We're talking about the Help End Auto Theft (HEAT) program from the El Paso Police Department.
Officers signed up several drivers today at the Memorial Park Library. Heat allows officers to pull over drivers between 1 and 5 a.m. if they have a decal placed on their vehicle. By enrolling, police say you make it a lot harder for a thief to drive away with your car.
