Driver Killed After Colliding with Tow Truck then Building
UPDATE: 2:14 p.m.- Police have released the name of the man killed in a wreck this morning after colliding with a tow truck.
Police say Alberto Morales, 22, lost control of his vehicle, slid across the road hitting two traffic signs, then collided with a tow truck. The impact caused the tow truck to spin 180 degrees. Morales' vehicle continued to skid across the road where it hit a pillar in front of a shopping center.
Morales was killed during the collision. The passengers of Morales' vehicle and the driver of the tow truck were not injured. Speed and no seatbelt use are being considered contributing factors. Investigators do suspect alcohol involvement, but will have to await toxicology reports to confirm any involvement.
EL PASO - Police are investigating a deadly overnight car accident.
The wreck happened at about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 8900 block of Gateway East near Zaragoza.
