Canutillo - A 23-year-old man who hit two 14-year-old girls with his vehicle yesterday afternoon not only admitted to drinking earlier in the day, but he was also arrested for DWI last month, according to El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies.

A Sheriff's Office spokesperson says charges of intoxicated assault are pending against Alfredo Alvarado.

The crash happened on the 6000 Block of Doniphan in Canutillo.

The two teens are in the hospital recovering.

Alvarado was not arrested at the scene because he blew a .03 and .04 on a breathalyzer test, well below the .08 legal limit, investigators said.

This needs to stop. One of the young ladies was hit by a drunk driver while on her bike and now has to learn how to walk again. How many times do these people have to go to jail for the justice system to realize they need to be stopped!!!!
