EL PASO — Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run crash in East El Paso.     

The wreck happened at Gateway East and Lomaland at about 4:00a.m. Monday.

According to police, the driver of a pickup hit a sign along I-10 then lost control, causing the truck to veer off the highway.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and ran away from the scene.

The scene of the crash was cleared shortly after 5:00a.m.
