Around a dozen local breeders found their missing dogs in an Upper Valley neighborhood Tuesday night.
They received several tips from NewsChannel 9 viewers who had been following our coverage of the story.
Just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, the breeders say they began searching yards near the corner of Doniphan and Redd Road. They say they found dogs in three of the places they looked.
The breeders then called El Paso Police. Animal Control was called out to take some of the dogs. Two men were taken into custody a short time later.
It's believed the dognappers plotted to steal dogs by answering ads placed by dog breeders, finding their location, and taking them.
The breeders say they hope the two men are charged as a warning to others who might consider stealing dogs.
