A study suggests it may not be the cold of winter weather that leads to a seasonal increase in heart-related deaths, it's our lifestyle during these cold winter months.

Researchers analyzed death certificates from seven locations in the United States with different climates. They had theorized that colder weather might increase blood vessel constriction and raise blood pressure, leading to an increase in heart deaths during the winter months. However, cardiac deaths were similar in all climates.
