Doña Ana County residents will decide on a tax increase
Doña Ana County (KTSM) — Doña Ana County residents are participating in the early voting election to decide on a tax increase today, residents will be voting on the 'bond and gross recipient tax proposal' which includes three projects, the first is a 6 million dollar construction project for a new 9-1-1 regional dispatch facility, another 1 million dollar project would improve the southern New Mexico fairgrounds, and finally an 800,000 dollar project to construct an animal housing facility, one voter told us she doesn't think the election was publicized enough.
"it’s always disturbing for me to see public bond issues not get voted on and then people wonder why the passed or why they failed and they don't seem to recognize that they should have gone out and stated their cause" Anthony NM resident Karen Lace said.
Early voting ended Saturday, Doña Ana County's general election will be held on July 30.
