EL PASO - You can help raise thousands of dollars for a Borderland organization by simply heading out to eat today.

23 El Paso restaurants will take part in the Dining Out For Life event. The restaurants will donate 25% of proceeds to the "International AIDS Empowerment", which helps hundreds of HIV positive and AIDS patients in the Borderland.

"It's still an epidemic but a lot of people have forgotten that it is and this is my way of keeping it in the forefront," said Sai Pituk, owner of "The Kitchen", who's participating in the event.

"We help about 600 families that are affected by this disease and help them with bus passes, with a ride to their doctor's appointment. We have a clothes closet. We have a food pantry," said Tony Rivas, who helped organize Dining Out For Life.

The restaurants participating in the event are:

Al-Zaituna Restaurant
Ardovino's Desert Crossing
Bella Napoli Ristorante
Cappetto's Italian Restaurant
Coach's Grill
El Parque
Fellini Film Café
The Garden
