Detective takes jury through defendant's phone records
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — A detective with the El Paso Police Department took the stand today in an El Paso mother's capital murder trial.
Detective Mike Aman took the stand on Wednesday. He is the detective who went through 23-year-old Lorraine Merjill's phone records...
He revealed on the stand that Merjill's statement as to her whereabouts that night did not match up with part of the cell phone records.
As we've reported investigators said Desiree Merjill, the defendant's 20-month-old daughter, died from internal bleeding caused by the beating.
Merjill has pleaded not guilty. Trial continues Thursday.
