Desert Imaging Presents $10K Donation To Breast Cancer Community

EL PASO - A $10,000 check will be presented to the American Cancer Society for the El Paso breast cancer community Tuesday at the Double Tree Hotel. The check will come from Desert Imaging Services’ fundraising efforts supporting the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk.

Last October, Desert Imaging conducted a fundraiser that donated $10 for every mammogram procedure performed at their east and west side locations, as well as their mobile mammography coach.

Desert Imaging Services has also pledged to join the local American Cancer Society office to participate in one of their latest movements, Choose You. Choose You is designed to inspire women to take action and put their health first in order to say well and help prevent cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, about half of all cancer deaths could be prevented if people maintained a healthy weight through diet and regular exercise, avoided tobacco products and got recommended cancer screening tests. As part of the Choose You movement, women are encouraged to sign a Choose You commitment, an online pledge to reach a specific, individual health goals
