Deputies Crack Down on Car Dealerships Selling Fake Plates

EL PASO – El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a man for allegedly selling them temporary dealer license plates for a vehicle that was not bought at the dealership.

Deputies say 71-year-old Alfredo Castaneda is charged with tampering with government records.

Strike Team Deputies said several dealerships are also selling plates for vehicles not linked or sold by the dealership for a fee.

More arrests are possible.

it's about time something is done about this,too many people trying to beat the system.too many cars with those temporary tags,they need to get pulled over and checked,most aren't legit.most don't even have insurance,too many of us paying for others mistakes.we need to start reporting all these foreign[juarez]plates as well.they are occupying the streets,and bringing all their driving habits with them.come on el paso,lets make the streets safe again!
