Deputies: Alcohol, Speed Factors in Blanco's Death
FABENS, TX — Sheriff's Deputies identified The July 15 deadly crash victim as 29-year-old Benjamin Blanco of Tornillo, Texas.
In a new report, alcohol and speed were factors in the tragedy
The truck Blanco was driving rolled over several times on I-10W after losing control at a curve. Blanco was pronounced dead at 3:10 pm. He was the only person inside of the vehicle and deputies say he was wearing a seatbelt.
"Deputies then proceeded to the actual vehicle where they were advised by medical and fire fighters that the single occupant of the vehicle is deceased,” said Eddie Placencia with The El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Traffic was detoured to a rest stop on the side of the freeway while crews cleaned up the wreck.
