Hotels in Downtown El Paso are getting booked up demolition weekend. Several people have rented rooms to get an up close look at city hall coming down.

Local residents Bonnie and Lewis had an idea. They went to the Doubletree Hotel to book a room for Saturday April 13th,  checking out on the 14th, with one requirement, that the room be on this side of the building facing West.

Why? because they'd have a perfect view of El Paso City Hall and its death by explosives.

Turns out the Doubletree Hotel was waiting for people just like Bonnie and Lewis.

The hotel is taking full advantage for guests who want to see the seat of city government come crashing down.

Guests will have coffee and donuts, watch the sunrise, then turn and face west for a panaoramic view of the Asarco towers' final moments.

Meanwhile, the Wyler Aerial Tramway is offering its own demolition special. On April 13th, just before the Asarco Towers come down at dawn, they'll take people up top as early as 5:30AM.
