Deliberations to begin in El Paso murder trial
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso man will have to wait one more weekend to learn his fate, after he allegedly stabbed and killed another man two years ago.
Royce Jackman's capital murder trial was held this week, and closing arguments were delivered Friday morning, but jurors won't begin deliberating until Monday.
The 34 year-old Jackman is accused of stabbing 55 year-old Clifton Baker to death on January 6, 2012 on Texas Avenue while trying to rob him.
Jackman also allegedly bit off most of Baker's ear during a fight over the knife. Jackman will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without parole if convicted.
