Police are investigating a death after a sexual assault call leads them to a body lying in the middle of a street.

El Paso Police responded to the call on Saturday just before 3 in the afternoon. When they arrived at the scene in the 3000 block of Mobile, they found 46-year-old Albert Aguirre laying in the south portion of Mobile Street with severe head injuries.

Police were told the man got in a confrontation with someone, was hit in the head with a bat, and fell in the street.

Aguirre was taken to University Medical Center where he later died on Wednesday.

Police are awaiting autopsy results.
