OTERO COUNTY - A crash in Otero County killed three people; one of them, from Alamogordo.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon on US 54 in Otero. 

New Mexico State Police said Richard Jackson of Alamogordo slammed head-on into another car. Jackson died at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the other car also died from their injuries.

Another passenger was taken to UMC in El Paso, where he is now recovering.

Alcohol is not a contributing factor in the crash, but police said none of the passengers were wearing a seatbelt.
