Man allegedly runs red light and collides with another car

A deadly car crash claimed the life of a man in Northeast El Paso early this morning. Police tell us he was driving a white van on Gateway North at Dyer when he ran a red light and collided with a white Sedan. Emergency crews found him dead at the scene. Two other people involved in the accident were taken to Thomason Hospital with minor injuries.

We're told the man had tools in the van, which made it difficult for investigators to remove the body. Witnesses tried to rescue the man, but they were unsuccessful. They tell us the victim's van smelled strongly of alcohol. Investigators have not determined whether speed or alcohol were factors in this crash.
