EL PASO--- The El Paso Children's Daycare Association will keep its doors open, for now.
The Non-profit Enterprise Center, the YWCA, the City of El Paso, as well as the United Way are all chipping in to help keep operations going for at least through the end of the month.
More than 75 children were in danger of losing their daycare, and a dozen employees were at risk of losing their jobs.
This, after the association lost a grant this year.
Parents we spoke to are now cautiously optimistic.
"Yes, it does make me nervous, but at least now we have an answer. Before we didn't know... Because from one day to another there are fund, there are no funds. So now you know for sure they're going to try to help us to maintain this daycare," said Gabriella Aguirre, a mother whose son stays at the center.
The groups have not decided on any hard numbers... as far as how much will be put into the association.
Organizers are hoping certain programs with the YWCA will give more money to parents in the region for daycare, who will then in turn spend the money at the non-profit daycare.
