EL PASO- Some shoppers are making the best of Cyber Monday by using a smart phone application.

Smart phones have apps for users to scan a barcode on an item in a store and it instantly finds comparable prices in that store and all over town.

Victor Contreras went shopping for a Christmas present for his girlfriend. He was happy to avoid Black Friday because he knew that Cyber Monday would offer him the same kind of deals without the crowds and without lining up early in the morning."It is better than Black Friday to me..I don't have to go out and face the masses and try to fight for a TV or something, I can just go online."

He found a DVD that he wanted to buy priced at $49 inside a store. He then looked at that retailer's website and found the same DVD for $18, an obvious deal.

Experts at the Better Business Bureau, are warning consumers to make sure and check that the websites they are purchasing items from are legitimate and accredited.
