Seventy percent of the wealth in the U.S. is held by people over the age of 55 years old according to Family and Protective Services.

Scammers have caught on and that's why the Adult Protective Services and El Paso County Attorney came together today for the Crimes Against the Elderly Conference and Legal Day.

Members from the community came together to learn how to better spot red flags of elderly people that are being taken advantage of.

The elderly are vulnerable because so many of them are isolated which makes them easier to scam.

If you suspect that someone you've seen is getting scam you can call 1-800-252-5400.
