Three Clint teenagers were arrested Saturday morning after El Paso County Sheriffs Deputies say they allegedly tried to steal an ATV from a backyard in the Clint area.

A neighbor became suspicious when he saw the three boys, ages 17, 18 and 19, pushing a ATV through a field near his home in the 12000 block of Quetzal Dr. in the early hours of the morning. The caller tried to make contact with the boys, who subsequently fled on foot, leaving the ATV behind in the field.

Sheriffs Deputies responded to the scene and were able to follow three sets of footprints back to a home located about a mile away, in the 12300 block of Sacred Well in Clint. The owner of the home confirmed that the ATV was his and had been unknowingly stolen from his backyard.

Deputies returned to the scene of the abandoned ATV and followed the footprints in the other direction, to a home on the 12000 block of Alameda Ave. in Clint where the owners gave consent to enter the home. Inside the home, Deputies found Mario Quinonez, 17, Jesus Vargas, 18, and Christopher Cedeno, 19.

All three subsequently admitted to stealing the ATV and were booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex on felony theft charges. The three were held on a $5,000 bond each.
