Three arrested in connection with alleged assault with vehicle
Mother, son and his girlfriend involved in alleged assault of 22-year-old
Clint, TX (KTSM) — Three people are behind bars after El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies allege they assaulted a 22-year-old man in Clint, TX.
The alleged victim, 22, went to check on his father's home in the 15200 block of Radlite St. in Clint. When he arrived at the home, he found a truck that he thought might be suspicious parked in the middle of the road on the street behind his father's home.
The man approached the truck to see why it was parked in the middle of the road when the owner of the truck, Ruben Holguin, 37, allegedly approached the victim and began arguing with him. Both the victim and Holguin began physically fighting, and both of them ended up on the ground.
While the two were on the ground fighting, a second truck driven by 66-year-old Socorro Holguin arrived and allegedly ran over the victim's legs. Socorro Holguin's passenger, Linda Pichardo, 28, who was also Ruben Holguin's girlfriend, exited the truck and hit the 22-year-old victim on the head with a bottle.
Sheriff's Deputies also say that Ruben Holguin and Pichardo went to the victim's vehicle and stole several items. The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene and refused transport to an area hospital.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were able to locate the three suspects in the area of the assault and arrested all three for various charges. Ruben Holguin has been charged with Burglary of a Vehicle and was held on a $5,000 bond. Linda Pichardo was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was held on a $10,000 bond. Holguin's mother, Socorro, was charged with Aggravated Assault with a motor vehicle and was held on a $10,000 bond.
