Teen accused of robbing two people at Outlet Mall apprehended
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — A 17-year-old who was previously featured on El Paso Sheriff's Manhunt Monday was apprehended by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in El Paso Monday afternoon without incident.
Castro was wanted by Sheriff's Deputies for allegedly robbing two victims at gunpoint at the Outlet Shoppes of El Paso in March. He was also allegedly involved in a separate incident in west El Paso where he, along with three other people allegedly participated in a gang-related shooting.
On July 21, 2014, Castro was featured on Manhunt Monday in order to determine the teen's whereabouts. During the investigation, task force members determined that Castro was staying with a family member in the 5900 block of Anapaula in West El Paso. As task force members moved in on the home Monday , they allegedly spotted Castro trying to escape the home out of a second story window.
Task Force members were able to eventually locate Castro inside a bedroom on the second story. Authorities are also seeking prosecution against Castro's family member for hindering apprehension and child endangerment.
Castro was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility where he is being held on multiple bonds totaling $250,000.
