Suspected DWI driver crashed with 3 kids in car, gun on floorboard
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police arrested 30-year-old Carlos Perez after he crashed his car into a curb allegedly driving drunk with three kids in his car early Friday morning.
EPPD Officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 10900 block of Pebble hills around 12:19 a.m. Friday morning. When police arrived on the scene, they found Perez had lost control of his 2006 Honda Accord and struck a curb, causing damage to the vehicle. No one was injured in the crash.
EPPD's investigation revealed Perez was allegedly drunk, with three children under the age of 15 in the car with him. Perez also had a 38 special handgun on the passenger floor board of the Honda.
Perez was arrested and charged with DWI with a Child Passenger under the age of 15 and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $3,700.
