San Elizario man charged with illegal dumping of dead horse
San Elizario, TX (KTSM) — El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a San Elizario man who allegedly dumped a dead horse in a canal near the international border.
EPCSO located a dead horse in the canal on Saturday, February 22 to the 12000 block of Guitar in San Elizario after citizens reported illegal dumping. After speaking with several witnesses, Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and trailer used in the illegal dumping in the 13300 block of Petunia St.
Deputies then determined that Raul Reyes, 63 was allegedly responsible for dumping the dead horse and placed him under arrest. Further investigation revealed that Reyes allegedly damaged a chain link fence while transporting the dead horse.
Reyes was charged will Illegal Dumping and Reckless Damage, he was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bonds totaling $4,000.
