Police search for hit-and-run suspect in 19-year-old's fatal accident
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police are still on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver. It's a story we first brought to you weeks ago. Investigators say 19-year-old Joe Anthony Hernandez was walking along Lomaland and Gateway West when he was fatally hit by a vehicle.
They say it happened in the early morning hours of July 12, 2014. Police believe the car may have been a 1999 Ford Mustang which may have sustained damage to the hood and windshield.
They also believe occupants in a dark colored truck and a small light colored car, who were parked at a nearby Whataburger, may have knowledge as to what happened that night. "Ended up attempting to render aid to the victim and left the scene before emergency crews arrived. Investigators are asking for those individuals to please contact them and give information on what they may have seen," Officer Javier Sambrano with El Paso Police explains.
