San Elizario, TX (KTSM) — Two San Elizario men were arrested after a house party allegedly got out of control early Sunday morning.
El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the area in the 13200 block of Gloria Elena Dr. in San Elizario, TX when they came across a large house party around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. As deputies drove up, they saw a large fight outside of the home and immediately requested assistance.
Deputies reported that several people began to run away and others tried to go inside of the home. That's when 21-year-old Christian Lopez came out of the home with an injury to his head, claiming he'd been assaulted by a beer bottle. Lopez was placed into the back of a patrol unit for his safety while the deputies continued with their investigation into who may have struck Lopez with a bottle.
As deputies attempted to enter the home to check on other possible victims, the homeowner, 22-year-old Bryan Martinez, pushed the door closed on the deputies making it impossible for them to continue the investigation.
While placing Martinez under arrest for interference with public duties, Lopez became uncooperative and began kicking out one of the rear passenger windows to the Sheriff's Office patrol unit. Lopez allegedly damaged the window and while trying to arrest him, he attempted to run from the deputies.
Lopez was ultimately arrested and again, began kicking at the window of the patrol unit. Lopez was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Martinez was arrested and charged with interference with public duties. Lopez was held on a $1,400 bond and Martinez was held on a $300 bond.
