Pair arrested during Lower Valley traffic stop

El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police arrested two people during a traffic stop early on Sunday morning after an EPPD officer observed a red 2005 Dodge Charger allegedly fail to stop at a sign at Lafayette and Yermoland.
EPPD pulled over the driver of the 2005 Dodge Charger, later identified as 22-year-old Steven Anthony Macedo, at 12:26 p.m. was determined to be intoxicated by the EPPD officer.
Macedo's passenger, a 17-year-old female, allegedly provided the officer with a false name. During the investigation, a police K-9 Officer also reportedly found marijuana in the vehicle.
Macdeo was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstruction of retaliation and possession of marijuana. His 17-year-old passenger was charged with failure to identify, possession of marijuana, and three outstanding municipal warrants.
The two were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
