A Doña Ana County man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly beat his supervisor with a galvanized steel pipe while on the job.

George Malone, 55, had allegedly been arguing with his supervisor for several days when the argument turned violent Saturday afternoon. Doña Ana County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a construction site in the 7600 block of Stern, where they found Malone and his alleged victim.

During the fight, Malone allegedly picked up a three-foot long section of galvanized steel pipe and beat his supervisor on his torso and wrist. Witnesses to the alleged assault say Malone hit the man three or four times.

Malone's supervisor was taken to a Las Cruces area hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Doña Ana County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Malone and charged him with one count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. He was taken to the Doña Ana County Detention Center and booked on a $10,000 secured bond.
