Manhunt Monday: Contractor suspected of deceptive business practice

Law enforcement in the El Paso area is asking for the community's assistance locating a man who has allegedly scammed thousands of dollars out of customers in the area.

Victor Hernandez, 39, has portrayed himself as a contractor and is hired by alleged victims to remodel their homes. Hernandez allegedly begins the work and collects money, but never returns to finish the jobs he is hired for. The El Paso Sheriff's Office says he has collected thousands of dollars over the years for work that was never completed.

Hernandez is aware that authorities are searching for him, but has been able to evade capture. He is wanted for the offenses of : five counts of deceptive business practice and two counts of theft of property.

Hernandez is described as Hispanic, 5 ft 10 inches tall, 265 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. Hernandez has family and friends in the El Paso area who could possibly hiding him from authorities. EPCSO reminds the public that Harboring a Fugitive from Justice is a Felony Offense.
