Man shot at Las Cruces park Thursday afternoon

Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) — Las Cruces Police are responding to a shooting at Apodaca Park, located on N Solano and E Madrid. One person was shot at the park and was taken to a hospital in Las Cruces.
A spokesman with LCPD says that police initially responded to a shots fired call just after 2 pm Thursday afternoon. Shortly after, they received notice from Mountain View Medical Center that a 27-year-old man arrived in MountainView Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his neck.
The victim has since been airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso for treatment of his injuries.
At this hour, investigators with LCPD are interviewing another 27-year-old man they believe may have been involved in this incident. He and several witnesses are being interviewed by investigators.
Detectives believe a handgun was used and at least four rounds were discharged. Police later recovered the handgun believed to be used in this shooting.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
