Man with previous intoxication manslaughter conviction attempts to outrun EPCSO deputies
Horizon, TX (KTSM) — Two men are under arrest after El Paso County Sheriffs' Deputies say the pair tried to outrun a Deputy during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
EPCSO Deputies attempted to stop 22-year-old Jonathan Ocon for driving recklessly in the 14700 block of Kaye Pl. in Horizon at 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning. Ocon then allegedly proceeded into the desert in an attempt to outrun the Deputy.
The Jeep Ocon was allegedly driving then got stuck in the desert and Jonathan Ocon then got out and tried to run.
The EPCSO Deputy chased after Ocon and ordered him to stop. Eventually, Ocon stopped and was placed under arrest by Deputies.
His passenger, Alan Ocon, 23, was also arrested for Public Intoxication. Alan Ocon was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on $500 bond.
The investigation later revealed that Ocon was intoxicated and he was also in possession of marijuana. He was also charged with evading arrest/detention with a vehicle. A criminal history check of Jonathan Ocon reveals a 2012 conviction for intoxicated manslaughter. Jonathan Ocon was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $13,300 bond.
