A routine traffic stop in Horizon City took a dramatic turn Monday morning after a man escaped Horizon PD officers on foot.

Horizon Police Department stopped a vehicle for speeding and determined that the driver, 22-year-old John Madison Campbell IV, had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon through the El Paso County Sheriff's Department.

According to HCPD officials, while their officer was attempting to place Campbell under arrest, he fled on foot.

Several officers pursued Campbell but were unable to apprehend him. They are now asking the public for assistance in locating Campbell.

Campbell has a last known address of 11778 Prado Del Sol. He was last seen near the Emerald Springs Golf Course. He is described as 5 ft 9 inches tall and approximately 140 lbs.

Horizon City Police Department are currently in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for evading arrest in addition to the outstanding aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant from EPSO.
