Man charged in Wednesday crash that left El Paso City Employee fighting for his life

El Paso Police have released the identity of the man who allegedly struck a City of El Paso Environmental Services Code Compliance Officer as he was working on a sidewalk along the 8400 block of North Loop Wednesday morning.

Rosendo Alvarado, 29, has been arrested and charged with Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death.

Alvarado was driving a 2000 Lincoln Towncar when he allegedly drove over a raised curb striking ESD Code Compliance Officer Robert Narro.

Narro is still receiving treatment at Del Sol Medical Center and was last listed in critical condition.

Alvarado was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bonds totaling $25,560.
