A 24-year-old El Paso man was charged in connection with his friend's death.  El Paso Police arrested Enrique Torres, 24, on Friday morning after a nearly month-long investigation.

EPPD allege that during the early morning hours of Friday, April 11, Torres and Gerardo Sanchez, 29, were drinking at a home in the 1000 block of Night Hawk for several hours. At one point in the evening, Sanchez asked to hold a pistol, which was owned by Torres. As Torres handed over the pistol, the gun fired one round, striking Sanchez in the head. Sanchez died at the scene.

During the investigation, police learned that the pistol fired because Torres had his finger on the trigger during the exchange. Torres was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of Criminally Negligent Homicide. His bond was set at $2,500.
