LCPD searching for group of teens suspected of stabbing man
Las Cruces, NM — Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information in a stabbing that required a 19-year-old man to be airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso Thursday night.
Police say that the 19-year-old victim was driving along the 4200 block of Broadview with his wife, when a group of men allegedly threw a rock at their vehicle. The victim stopped the vehicle and confronted the group of men, who are believed to be teenagers.
Witnesses say that a fight broke out and the 19-year-old was stabbed. Police say there were two to five men involved and al were described as Hispanic teenagers, approximately 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5 inches tall and thin.
One of the suspects was wearing a short-sleeve blue and white flannel shirt. Another suspect was wearing a white, long sleeve hooded sweatshirt with an unknown symbol across the chest. A third suspect was described as having a spiked haircut, wearing a white shirt.
The 19-year-old was airlifted to UMC in El Paso with injuries that are not life-threatening according to LCPD.
