Las Cruces woman charged with stabbing, restraining boyfriend
Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) — A 44-year-old Las Cruces woman was arrested Sunday morning after she allegedly beat and held her boyfriend against his will in their apartment.
Police were initially called to a disturbance at the couple's home on Saturday, April 5, after the couple became involved in an argument stemming from accusations of infidelity. LCPD determined that no criminal activity had occurred and left the apartment.
Later on in the evening, the couple's argument escalated once again. The woman, 44-year-old Roze Henderson, allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her 38-year-old boyfriend in the wrist and left leg. Her boyfriend did not call police to report the stabbing and instead, the couple went to sleep.
Henderson's boyfriend then allegedly awoke to find her striking him on the head with an unknown object Sunday morning. When he tried to get out of bed and leave the home, he found a large chair blocking the door.
LCPD were called to the home again, where they found Henderson's boyfriend as he was attempting to leave their apartment. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Henderson was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of false imprisonment. She was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
