EPPD makes large pot bust in Northeast El Paso
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police made a large pot bust Tuesday evening in Northeast El Paso thanks to work from the Source City Metro Narcotics Task Force and West Texas H.I.D.T.A.
Detectives conducting the ongoing investigation at a residence in the 9700 block of Trident in Northeast El Paso located 288 wrapped bundles of marijuana inside of a Nissan Altima parked at the home. As a result of the seizure, 23-year-old Richard Vega was arrested and charged.
The 288 bundles had a total weight of 258.91 pounds. Vega was charged with Possession of Marijuana over 50 pounds and under 2,000 pounds. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $40,000.
El Paso Police officials tell us the narcotics investigation is ongoing.
