EPPD investigating murder on El Paso's far east side

El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Detectives from El Paso's Police Department are at the scene of a murder on El Paso's far east side this morning.
El Paso Police were initially dispatched to a call of loud noise near the intersection of Edgemere and Tierra Cobre at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. At 2:30 a.m. a second call came into dispatch indicating that a fight was taking place at the same residence. By the time officers arrived at the scene, two people had been stabbed.
The first victim, a male in his late teens, was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. The second, a female in her early teens was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition at this hour.
Police are saying that the incident appears to have occurred outside of a house party, on the street. Police currently have Tierra Cobre blocked off for several blocks wile they continue to investigate the murder.
At this time, police do not have anyone in custody in connection with the murder. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to call police at 915-832-4400 or ti remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477.
This is the fifth murder of 2014 compared to three at the same time period in 2013. This is also the third murder in just over a week, EPPD made an arrests earlier this week in the murder of Efren Gonzalez in the Cincinnati Entertainment District and the murder of Anthony Bowler on El Paso's east side from last weekend.
