Detectives with the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public's assistance identifying a pair of people who were seen on surveillance footage cashing a payroll check that didn't belong to them.

Crime Stoppers representatives say that thecouple was seen cashing a check at Juanito's Liquor Store located at 400 East Rd on January 23, 2014. The owner of the check did not realize until days later that his payroll check had been taken and cashed.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the two individuals captured the store’s surveillance video that are believed to be involved in this forgery are asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso immediately at 566-8477(TIPS), on-line at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org or you can send a text message by entering the key word “CRIME1” (no space and include the quotation marks) plus your tip information, and text it to CRIMES (274637). You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
